A lifelong engineer who likes to lock in.
The University of Waterloo SYDE program is perfectly tailored for my interests in applying engineering design and comprehension towards efficient and effective systems.
In SYDE, I've completed coursework covering C++, SolidWorks, the iterative design process, and business organization. I've learned the basics of various engineering practices and worked on projects that effectively tie these practices together effectively.
At the Union County Magnet High School, I got early exposure to the applications of the engineering design process. I showcased all the skills I developed in my Engineering Design Capstone project. .
I also was an integral member of Team 1257, the school's FRC Robotics team. As executive leadership, I managed over 100 people annually, redeveloped and iterated on the team organizational structure, and communicated with sponsors and stakeholders. As the Drive Coach, I represented the team during competition by devising and executing effective match strategies.
I am a former multi-sport athlete, consistently competing in swim at a national level and track at a state level in high school. From a young age, the discipline of daily practices and applying technique corrections instilled a strong work ethic in me, while also teaching me how to be confident in my own journey toward improvement.
I am always in search of things to learn that might benefit my future. With the free time I had, I learned HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, 3D CAD modeling, and Figma skills. I thrive on working towards a new goal.
Stemming from my tendency to get really deep into things I care about, I care a lot about pop culture, specifically pop music and Marvel movies. I could talk for hours about my favorite artists' best lyrical and sonic songs or how the latest Marvel movie integrates into the larger cinematic universe.
